Habitat/Microhabitat: Solitary, protruding from soil under cherrybark oaks
Additional data: FRUITING BODY ~1 cm across, irregular in shape, orange color, interior whitish hyphae, odor mild but apparent; SPORES globose, hyaline, spiny, spines 2-3 µm long, 20-21 µm, ascus 8 spored; PARAPHYSES not studied.
