Medicinal (including insect repellent) (Balick et al. 2000:107). Common Names: Ch'ilibtux, chakch'ilibtux, Cola de gato, nej miis, nich maax [refers to Acalypha spp.](Anderson et al. 2003:133, 137, 186). Ch'ilibtux [Barrera, 1976]; chilibtub (Arellano et al. 2003:201). Coc-u-cèm, coc-u-cúm, costillo del danto (Balick et al. 2000:107).
