Description: Uses: En medicina para tratar constipación, debilidad, disentería, erupción acompañada de fiebre, hipo, retención de orina, tisis [Roys, 1931] (Arellano et al. 2003:189). Common names: Halal [Roys, 1931]; say, uch'el-poop [Barrera, 1976]; cafiuto [Standley, 1930]; jalal, pop, say, junco (Arellano et al. 2003:189). Image Notes: Inflorescence: 1.0-2.0 cm spikelet containing achene like fruits with nodes or beaks at the apex from persistent styles.
