Description: Uses: En medicina se considera que es de efecto antiinflamatorio, para granos [Del Amo, 1979]; emoliente [Anon, 1949, Souza N., 1942]; y para tratar incordios de cuello, retención de orina, mordedura de serpiente [Roys, 1931]; dolor de estómago [Osado R., 1834]; hemorroides [Anon, 1949, Andrews, 1979, Standley, 1930, Souza N., 1942]; pústulas, reumatismo vulnerario, [Del Amo, 1979]; el fruto es forraje para pajaros; melífera (nectar y polen); usado en el rito del cha' achac; las hojas y tallo como detergente (Arellano et al. 2003:606-607). Medicine, miscellaneous products, poison (Balick et al. 2000:111). Common names: Ta'ka'anjj (general term for vines; Anderson 2003:221). Tabkan, tabkanil, xtabkanil, xtak'kanil, ta'ka'anil, ya'ax taab, ka'anil, x ta'ka'anil, bolontib, bolontibin, bolontibi', bolontite', xbolontibi', [Barrera, 1976]; hierba del buey (Chis, Son, Oax, Yuc), [Martinez, 1979] (Arellano et al. 2003:606). Coronilla, prenada segunda, ta-kan (Balick et al. 2000:111).
