Description: Uses: El fruto es comestible; tóxico para el ganado; medicinal para tratar el salpullido, para enfermedades filiales (sahumerios); las hojas para hacer te (Arellano et al. 2003:596). Food, miscellaneous products, spice, poison, medicine, fuel (Balick et al. 2000:131). Common names: Orégano de(l) monte, orégano silvestre, orégano k'aax ('wild oregano') (Anderson et al. 2003:190). Sikil ha'xiw [Barrera, 1976]; orégano silvestre, zicilhaxiu, xikin-hu (Arellano et al. 2003:596). Oregano, oregano del monte, oregano silvestre, sage, sea sage, simaron, spice (Balick et al. 2000:131). Image Notes: Fruit (Pulp sac): Rhombohedral succulent, wrinkled, fleshy, enclosing two seeds, two dehiscent, 1.5 mm x1.5 mm.
