Description: Uses: Crosses made from the big root are put round children's necks to protect from evil winds (Anderson et al. 2003:223). Sus hojas son medicinales, para tos y para granos; su raíz para alejar malos vientos (enfermedades filiales) (Arellano et al. 2003:534). Common names: Matasanillo (voucher); Tankasche' (Anderson et al. 2003:223). K'ok'obche', [Barrera, 1976]; tankas che' (Arellano et al. 2003:534). Image Notes: Fruit: Legume like container, dehiscent in to opposite rotation marginal sections, 20.0 mm long. Seed: Faveolate, surface smooth, glabrous, slightly wrinkled, marginal embryo, teardrop shaped hilum, distinct pointed lobe at apex, 7.0 mm long x 4.0 mm wide.
