Description: Uses: Fruit eaten, leaves used as standard thatch for roofs (Anderson et al. 2003:237). Las hojas para hacer techos (Arellano et al. 2003:476). Construction (Balick et al. 2000:196). Common names: Xa'an (refers to Sabal spp.), botam, julok xa'an, guano (Anderson et al. 2003:237, 312). Guano grande (Arellano et al. 2003:476). Bayleaf palm, botán (Balick et al. 2000:196). Image Notes: Fruit (mature): 0.7-1.5 cm spherical drupe-like with persistent peduncle and remnant calyx. Leathery and reticulate epidermis.
