Description: Uses: Ornamental (Anderson et al. 2003:37). Ritual; el fruto es forraje para por aves y en medicina se considera como antiinflamatorio, antisifilítico, antitusivo, carminativo y para tratar asma, retortijones, erisipela [Roys, 1931]; las hojas como forraje; melífera (nectarífera) (Arellano et al. 2003:238-239). Construction, medicine, food, miscellaneous products (Balick et al. 2000:71). Common names: Ixi'im che' (Anderson et al. 2003:37). Ixi'imche', xi'mche', xmabenche' [Barrera, 1976]; ixilim che', xi'in che', abal-chichich, botoncillo (Oax), cafe cimarron (Chis), cafetillo (Tab, Ver), chilillo (Sin), obatel (Sin), pinol-cuauit (Hgo), [Martinez, 1979] (Arellano et al. 2003:238). Balelac de aguada, billy hop, blossom berry, café de montaña, café de monte, canjuro, cape-che, iximche, paletillo, sak-tan-t, sak-tan-té, yierba mora (Balick et al. 2000:71).
