Description: Uses: Medicinal, comestible (voucher). Leaf, toasted till soft and then boiled for a tea, is used for granos (pimples and point skin infections). Mashed, the fruits are taken for dysentery, and the leaves and bark make a tea for the same. Leaves boiled with other things for wash for pasmo and for eye wash. Also used in alcohol as a rub (Anderson et al. 2003:198). En medicina como carminativo [Roys, 1931]; hemostatico, cicatrizante, y para tratar dolor de oído [Standley, 1930]; excremento con pus y sangre; para heridas; forrajera; comestible el fruto para pajaros; maderable; melífera (polen) (Arellano et al. 2003:452). Food, medicine, beverage, construction, tannin (Balick et al. 2000:98). Common names: Pich'iche' (voucher). Pichi'che' (wild guava), (Anderson 2003:198). Kabal sak loob che', x-pichi'che, guayabillo y pichiche, pichi-che, pichi' che' (Arellano et al. 2003:452). Arragon (Sin, Ver, Oax, Dgo), choquey (Guarigia, Chih), guallabillo (Gro), rayana (Oax), [Martinez, 1979] (Arellano et al. 2003:452). Half crown (Balick et al. 2000:98). Pichi che, guava tree (Bricker and Miram 2002:499).
