Ornamental, ritual, medicine (Balick et al. 2000:43). Common names: Asparago k'aax, asparago del monte, waalkanjj (Anderson et al. 2003:109, 235, 299). Telts' iw [Standley, 1930]; culantrillo, culantrillo de pozo [Martinez, 1979]; encaje-box chilib, helecho (Arellano et al. 2003:10). Black stick, maidenhair, palo negro, pich, roc-che-cwan (Balick et al. 2000:43).
