Description: Uses: Inside part of sheath and petiole applied to fresh wounds to staunch bleeding, prevent infection, and allviate pain; brooms made from youg, dried leaves tided together (Arvigo and Balick 1998:109). Construction, medicine, miscellaneous products (Balick et al. 2000:195). Common names: Escoba, mis (Arvigo and Balick 1998:109). Akuum, escoba, give-and-take, give-and-take palm (Balick et al. 2000:195).
