Ornamental, en medicina como antitusivo; para tratar bubas; como calmante, para cámaras de sangre; convulsiones; llagas en encías; flatulencia, inflamación en la garganta; heridas sifilíticas; hinchazón; malos humores, ritual para espantar monstruos; purgante; tumores; vermifugo; en cercas vivas (Arellano et al. 2003:36-37). Nosegays (Atran 1993:Table 2). Medicine (Balick et al. 2000:122). Common names: Nikte' ch'om, nikte' ch'oom (Anderson et al. 2003:186, 300). Nikte chom (voucher). Sak nikte', flor de mayo [Barrera, 1976]; flor de mayo (flor blanca), nik-te-chon, gnikte-chom, sak nikte', saknikte; Popojoyo (Chis), Sacnicte (Chis) [Martinez 1979] (Arellano et al. 2003:36).
