Description: Uses: Sap used for mouth sores, tooth cavities, and malamosca bites; sap in water used to wash fogajes and gum sores; tea for vomiting, diarrhea, fever and kidneys; deer browse (Anderson et al. 2003:156). Medicinal, para tratar la viruela, el látex para erisipela; forrajera para ganado equino (Arellano et al. 2003:222). Common names: Jobonk'ak', jobon k'ak' ('colored fire' or 'flame color') (Anderson et al. 2003:156, 304). Chulebxiw, hobonk'ak', hobonk'aak', bohonte' aak', hobonte', xtoplan xiix [Barrera, 1916]; jobon k'aak', jobonte, jobonte' k'aak', xjohon k'aak', golondrina, hobonxiu, xtop'lan riix, casolina (Jal), catalina (Jal), contra hierba (Sin), nela, picachalih (Son), tianguls (Yuc), [Martinez., 1979] (Arellano et al 2003:222). Flor de navidad, redhead, wild poinsetta (Balick et al. 2000:109).
