Description: Uses: Used to make a tea for green and also white dysentery and for irregular menses; bath used for cases of worms (Anderson et al. 2003:185). En medicina como analgesico, antiinflamatorio de pierna, antitusivo, encías infectadas, erisipela [Roys, 1931]; picadura de insecta ponzoñoso, resfriados [Del Amo, 1979]; la raíz en infusión se toma para aliviar la disentería (Arellano et al. 2003:82). Common names: Nejmaax, neelmaax ('spider monkey tail'; general term for Heliotropum spp.) (Anderson et al. 2003:302). Nema'ax, alacrancillo [Barrera, 1976]; cola de mico, ne miis, en miis, nej rna' ax, yax ak, kotz max (Arellano et al. 2003:82). Alacrán (Oax,Chis), bigotes (Sin), cola de alacran, hierba de la mula, rabo de mico [Martinez, 1979] (Arellano et al. 2003:82).
